Changing the World is in the Palm of Your Hand

We’re in the second week of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and activities and celebrations are taking place coast to coast. Here at GiGi’s Playhouse, we’re asking everyone for one simple action this month: Take the “I Accept You” pledge! Will you join us? 

Everyone who takes the pledge becomes a part of #GenerationG, an army of change-makers set on making the world a kinder, better place for people of all abilities. And we’ll ask you to proudly show your commitment  by  drawing a “G” in a heart on your  palm, and  sharing it on all your social media channels!   

What is  Down Syndrome Awareness Month?  

Originally established in the 1980s, the month is set aside to raise understanding of Down syndrome and the amazing abilities people with the diagnosis have. At GiGi’s Playhouse, we take it one step forward and call it Down Syndrome ACCEPTANCE Month! It’s our way of moving beyond the passive and into active learning and caring. And the best way to show you care is to join #GenerationG by taking the “I Accept You Pledge”!

Why does it matter to me?   

Because you can make a difference! By taking the “I Accept You” pledge and joining #GenerationG, you’ll amplify the voices of all of the amazing and talented people with Down syndrome who are leading full lives! They deserve  acceptance, care, and respect, and you’ll be a part of living that commitment once you take the pledge. And #GenerationG is even bigger than Down syndrome—it’s about accepting ALL people!

Can I get involved locally?   

YES! Local GiGi’s Playhouses are perfect places to volunteer or donate—we have 55 locations across the United States.
