Hope- (verb) want something to happen or be the case.

When Hope was born and My husband thought of her name, it wasn’t that we wanted it not to be the case that she had Down syndrome. It’s that was hoped the world would change. We hoped it wouldn’t be the case that people were unaccepting and unkind. That it wouldn’t be the case that people had low expectations for her. That it wouldn’t be the case that people saw her only as a girl with Down syndrome.

GiGi’s Playhouse gives us hope!! Why? Because every day they are trying to change the world, one diagnosis, one community at a time. They have a Generation G campaign that focuses on being kind, accepting, and generous to ALL!! They give FREE tutoring so that others can see that Hope IS smart and to not have low expectations of her. Instead to push her because she CAN do more than most give her credit for. Hope is more than a girl with Down syndrome, she is a rock star!! I’ve learned that by going to GiGi’s, meeting other families, and talking with the amazing Nancy Gianni.

Please consider joining us on #teamhope for the 2019 GiGi’s 5K run, 1-mile walk, and dash for Down syndrome or supporting GiGi’s Playhouse by donating to Hope’s team.
